Crossing Voices at Ca’Foscari University, Venice

Crossing Voices 7-5-2014 Banner FINITO

In May 2014 co-organised and participated in Crossing Voices at Ca’Foscari, University of Venice, a three-day workshop and collaborative performance by 3 UK and 3 Italian poets.

For my piece, we played around with ink and stamps on clear acetate to produce negatives, which I then cut up and collaged to make cyanotypes. We then collaboratively performed these, using them as graphic scores for sound poetry. The source text we started with was a Venetian folk-song called ‘Il ritmo dei battipali’.

Work in progress: playing with pen, ink, brushes and stamps on acetate.

Away Day

Over the Bank Holiday, 29-31 May, I’m helping The Wayward Plant Registry with an installation as part of an art festival in Wandle Park, (Colliers Wood tube), South London.

Our contribution is ‘Funeral for Flowers’, an installation and text work about the roles flowers play in our lives. Feel free to bring your own flowers to be added to the compost heap!

More details about the project are on the POST Artists’ Network page.

Voiceworks 2010

This Thursday 20th May at 6pm the concert peformance of Weathering will take place in the Wigmore Hall in London. This collaboration between me and composer Patrick Brennan and singer Robert Elibay-Hartog is a small part of a much wider project called Voiceworks. Tickets are free and can be booked here.
